Phase reductions yield phase oscillators networks (with or without higher-order interactions) that describe the dynamics of nonlinear oscillator networks. The work by T Böhle (TU München & VU) with Christian Kuehn (TU München) and Christian Bick (VU & TU München) now out on the arXiv outlines how the shape of the limit cycle shapes the phase interaction terms.
